Wheelchair tennis player Pauline Déroulède has been chosen as the fourth athlete sponsored by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In addition, she has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Dior at the Paralympic Games in Paris next year.
Déroulède, currently ranked number 13 in the International Federation of Tennis (IFT) ranking, made history by reaching the quarterfinals at the 2023 Roland-Garros tournament. She is the first French player in wheelchair tennis to achieve this feat since 2010.
Dior, known for its association with athletes, expressed its shared ambition and commitment with Déroulède. The brand stated that she is focused on her dream of winning Paralympic gold in Paris next year.
Déroulède's journey in wheelchair tennis began after a life-changing accident in 2018, where she lost her left leg. Despite the setback, she started her professional career in 2019 and was officially selected for the French national team in 2021. She has since won the French wheelchair tennis championship in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Apart from her athletic achievements, Déroulède is a passionate advocate for road safety. She is actively lobbying lawmakers to update French laws regarding driving aptitude, as the country currently does not require regular medical checks for driving licenses.
Déroulède's sponsorship by LVMH and Dior aligns her with other notable athletes, including Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos, Enzo Lefort, and Léon Marchand. LVMH, as a premium partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, reaffirms its commitment to supporting athletes who exemplify success.
Pauline Déroulède's partnership with LVMH and Dior as a sponsored athlete and brand ambassador highlights her remarkable achievements in wheelchair tennis. Her journey, from overcoming a life-changing accident to becoming a top-ranked player, serves as an inspiration to others. With her sights set on winning Paralympic gold in Paris next year, Déroulède's determination and advocacy for road safety make her a true role model.
